Deb's Tumornators

I was diagnosed with brain cancer more than 11 years ago on 11/10/08. My diagnosis has changed my life tremendously, but not in a negative way. It has made me realize what is important, and how I want to live my life. I have met the most inspirational people who have helped me grow stronger in my fight. I have needed this strength because my fight hasn’t been an easy one. It has included six tumors, four surgeries, radiation and years of chemo.

In January 2019, I started having severe thought processing issues and found out my cancer was back for the fifth time. After a biopsy surgery, I found out I had a Grade IV Glioblastoma. In the Fall of 2019 my scans were clear, my treatment ended, and I went into a monitoring stage.

Unfortunately, in January 2020 a new scan revealed that my cancer has returned. I recently began treatment again, and I pray every day it will work. Please join my team to help encourage me, as well as all the other patients and survivors who are fighting every day.

After years of participating in the Head for the Cure 5K, I finally decided to form my own team several years ago. I asked my friends to help me come up with a name and that’s how Deb’s Tumornators was formed. I thought this was a perfect team name for my friends and family who have been there for me to support my fight against cancer. Please join my team and race with me in hopes that my cancer finally “Won’t be back!”
