Thank you for visiting our team page and helping us to reach our fundraising goal!
Our team is joining the fight against brain cancer by participating in Head for the Cure Metro KC on Sunday, August 30th. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research IN HONOR OF ALLY BAIER and her family.
We understand that the event might be modified due to the current COVID pandemic, but, hey, we were rained out last year and we still did AN AMAZING JOB OF RAISING MONEY FOR BRAIN CANCERS AND CELEBRATING ALLY AND, REALLY, that is what the entire thing was about! (and we got GREAT tee-shirts out of it!)
We are doing this again and I want to go EVEN BIGGER! We can do this! For Ally! One of the world's strongest superheros.
Ally was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, in November 2016. What you don't know about Ally (or some of you do) is that she and her family are superheros and we want to celebrate and honor Ally and her family by putting together TEAM ALLY to participate in this fundraiser. You do not have to be a runner. Shoot, I'll be walking with my husband and children. Come walk with us, run, or meet us at the end. Please consider a donation to the team. Also, I would like everyone running on TEAM ALLY to consider wearing a superhero shirt on the day of the race.
Ally is at a point in her fight with Cancer where she needs a miracle. Let us fight for her and for other children with brain cancer.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of medical centers with the expertise and the desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors.
Each year, over 79,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
Please consider making a donation today to help us reach our goal and to help Head for the Cure defeat brain cancer, step by step!
