Welcome to My Personal Page!!
Thank you for visiting my personal page and helping me to reach my fundraising goal!
In 2017 I went to my primary care doctor with the complaint of migraines. I had just started my dream job so the idea of having migrains was not unlikely. My PCP gave me migrain medication but wanted an MRI "just to be safe".
I was registering to go back to school when I got the call. "There was something on the MRI..I need you to see a neurosurgeon because it'll need to be removed..."
Thus my journey began
Three brain surgeries later and honestly I am a changed person. The entire experiance happened so fast but through the stuggle, true stars really shown through. My family really came through. All those nights I lied awake in the hosptial bed bawling, I always had family members calling or texting me encouraging me that I was strong and they would be there to carry me through if I stumbled.
Even though the residual from all the surgeries can be a lot at times. I don't think if I could go back I would change anything. I learned not only a lot about the people I cared about, but I learned how truly strong I could be as a person. Brain tumors suck. Big time, but I learned so much through the entire experiance, I wouldn't change a thing!
I am joining the fight against brain tumors/cancer by participating in Head for the Cure Cleveland. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer/tumor research.
Each year, over 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer/tumor are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of medical centers with the expertise and the desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors.
Please consider making a donation today to help me reach my goal and to help Head for the Cure defeat brain cancer, step by step!
