Welcome to My Personal Page
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm participating as part of "Team EBO"—in loving memory of Elise Osborn Strickland.
I first met Elise at Spiceworks, back in 2011—we started working there the same week, and we were desk-mates off and on for four years. For many of us in the Marketing department, she wasn't just a coworker, she truly was a good friend.
Things I loved about Elise:
- Her sense of humor...I usually started or ended my workday laughing hysterically because of some joke she cracked. Sometimes she didn't need to say anything...a knowing glance was enough to have me in stitches.
- How kind she was to the people around her. She didn't care who you were...she was a sympathetic, thoughtful listener. I remember sometimes running into her in the hallway while she was chatting with the office custodian. Elise always made time for interacting with people.
- How much she loved her family—she always had a fun update about one of the kiddos, or fun weekend plans with Carter. You could tell how much she adored them.
On March 25, I'm participating in Head for the Cure Central Texas to help raise funds for brain cancer research, and to help continue Elise's legacy. You can read more about the Head for the Cure event below.
Thank you for visiting my personal page and helping me to reach my fundraising goal!
I am joining the fight against brain cancer by participating in Head for the Cure Central Texas on March 31, 2019. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research.
Each year, over 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of medical centers with the expertise and the desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors.
Please consider making a donation today to help me reach my goal and to help Head for the Cure defeat brain cancer, step by step!
