Don't Quit
Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, since my diagnosis in May of 2015, I have been searching for my purpose in life. Although there have been many losses and changes since that time, I believe with all of my heart that God has a purpose for me and I want to glorify Him through helping others in similar situations. I used to find my purpose in my work, but I now believe that a large part of my purpose is to continue to educate and support patients and their families who have been impacted by brain tumors. One way I am fulfilling this need is to join in the fight against brain cancer by participating in Head for the Cure Charleston on February 26th. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research.
Each year, over 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of medical centers with the expertise and the desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors.
Please prayerfully consider making a donation, regardless the amount, to help those who are helping work so diligently to find ways for patients and their families to have the support, education and treatment to improve longevity and quality of life. Every one of you is a blessing to me and I am forever grateful for the impact you have had on my life.
