Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm so thankful to be putting 2020 and 2021 in my rearview mirror! We are planning to travel to Charleston this year to participate in the walk/run in person. Chase is super excited for his "vacation at dad's hotel." Haha! We would obviously love for you to join us in the Queen City, but you also have the option of participating virtually and having your shirt mailed to you.
My current tumor update is that I had another stable brain scan in November, and I'm incredibly grateful and thankful. I am officially a survivor of 4 years. My surgeon very candidly told me that they usually only see patients in clinic for about 9 months. Even benign brain tumors can cause severe problems for individuals, and metastatic brain tumors from all types of cancer are killing people every day. We desperately need more funding to find a viable treatment for brain tumors.
Did you know that brain tumors kill more people under 40 than any other cancer? I was 38 when I was diagnosed, and Chase was only 2. Survival odds were terrifying. Anything you can do to help fund research is greatly appreciated! My family and families like mine worldwide are grateful!
That said, thank you for visiting my personal page and helping me to reach my fundraising goal!
I am joining the fight against brain cancer by participating in the Head for the Cure - Charleston Virtual 5K on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research.
Each year, over 80,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of medical centers with the expertise and the desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors.
Please consider making a donation today to help me reach my goal and to help Head for the Cure defeat brain cancer, step by step!
