Thank you for visiting my personal page and helping my team, “Deb's Matter” raise money for the fight against brain cancer!
Once again, I am helping raise awareness for brain cancer research by participating in Seattle’s eighth annual Head for the Cure Walk on June 26, 2021. Head for the Cure is dedicated to funding research for new and alternative treatment of brain cancer and beneficiaries of HFTC’s efforts are the Brain Tumor Trails Collaborative and its affiliate organizations, including the University of Washington (where I received my treatment) and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. As you are well aware, this is a cause that is near and dear to me. We must find a cure!
In 2019, my team raised over $14,000 for Head for the Cure and I had 44 family and friends walk beside me during the race. We came in 1st place for funds raised and 1st for largest team! I want to be 1st again this year! Please come join my virtual team and help me raise money for a cure! I also would love for you to share my page with your family and friends and encourage anyone who might be interested in virtually walking with us. Like previous years, we intend to show everyone how fun Team Deb's Matter is by wearing tutus, crowns, tiaras, wigs, tights, etc.!
Each year, over 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Please consider making a donation today to help me reach my goal and to help Head for the Cure defeat brain cancer, step by step!
